Profile

Independent engineering consultant with a focus on failure analysis, technical investigations and design reviews.

Academic qualifications include a Dipl.-Ing. (TU) degree and a Master of Science (M.Sc.), supplemented by continuing professional development through the study of literature, industry engagement, and technical publications.

Professional experience across engineering, commissioning, operations, maintenance, reliability, and technical investigations in various industrial sectors provides practical understanding of both technical and organizational contributors to failure and technical issues. Experience includes work in technically demanding environments, particularly in the fields of energy and power generation, oil and gas, rotating equipment, and die-casting applications. Engagements have included support of high-value commercial claims and collaboration with legal advisors in the technical substantiation of claims and the preparation of expert opinions.

Investigations and assessments are conducted using evidence-based methodologies, established engineering principles, coherent technical reasoning, and critical evaluation of assumptions. Alternative explanations are actively considered, and uncertainties and limitations communicated where the available evidence does not support definitive conclusions.

The core objective is not merely to determine what happened, but to develop reliable understanding of technical problems and enable effective actions that contribute to improved safety, reliability and efficiency of industrial systems.
